Five Points festival was May 20-21 at Pier 36 in New York City. It was the first time for this show, which was organized and hosted by Clutter Magazine. Everyone was concerned about attendee turnout since it was a new show, but it ended up doing pretty well.
Here's my table at the show. I tried a few new things such as a bright red table cloth and some new banners. I also got a small standing peg board for my mini figures.
My wife and I attended the Designer Toy Awards the night before the show. It was neat to meet a bunch of artists for the first time. No awards for me :(
I made some terrific new friends including all the guys at the 1000 Toys booth. Here is me with Yuta Tobari, director of 1000 Toys.
And it was great to see my friends from Toy Pizza again. Here's Jesse. Nicky was also on hand to to celebrate their collaboration with 100 Toys. Amazing stuff going on!
I finally got to meet toy legend, Tim Clarke. He designed a lot of things including Sectaurs and Boglins. Great guy to chat with. I hope to talk with him some more in the future.
Of course I had a lot of toys for sale. Here's a new Diaclone inspired colorway for the Epsilon Buggy. Sales at the show were OK. Not great but I did well enough to make it worth the trip. I actually did better on Sunday when the other vendors were going around and buying.
Here are some of the customs I had available at the show.
